What is your current role?
I’m currently Regional Sales Manager covering the south region. My role is quite varied and I’ve had to learn quickly about property development and the technical side of building and selling new homes. At present, we have seven private sales developments in the south, all at different stages.
We work closely with the development delivery team to create the correct specifications, as well as optimising floor plans and site plans to ensure we create the best possible home for a new buyer to live in. This also means we can maximise the sites to make as much money as possible for us to reinvest in social housing. We manage the scheme from acquisition, through the build, to seeing the customers move in.
Building relationships with external stakeholders and sales agents is a key part of my role, as well as ensuring the homes are delivered alongside the build programme. I also carry out market research to determine the demand in an area and how our developments fit in with local amenities.
How has your career developed with Clarion?
I started working for Clarion just over two years ago as a customer resolution officer in our Kent contact centre. This role was the first point of contact to resolve any customer queries relating to repairs and general tenancy issues.
Since then, I’ve joined the private sales team, firstly as a sales executive – which was exciting as the environment was very different from the contact centre. Being a sales executive gave me a good foundation of knowledge and has allowed me to progress to be now managing my own schemes. And currently I am Regional Sales Manager covering the south region.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The people: I get to work with a fantastic team who are all very supportive of each other. I also like the fact that no two days are the same. I could be picking kitchens out one day and out on site the next – it really is varied.
It’s great to see a project through from start to finish, and seeing customers move into their new home and be pleased with their purchase.
I really enjoy being involved in the designing of a brand for each scheme – it allows me to get creative and adds personality to the scheme. It's great to be involved from right at the start of design all the way through to delivery.

What is your favourite work memory?
Launching my first scheme for Latimer, our private development company: it took a lot of hard work and planning, but being able to step back and see the success of the scheme was rewarding.
What advice would you give to someone looking to join your team?
Build up your knowledge, visit some of our show homes and marketing suites, and ask lots of questions.
Tell us an interesting fact about you.
I lived in Cyprus for five years. I moved out there with my family, lived in a village just outside Paphos and went to a Greek school. It was great to be able to go down to the beach after school and have sunshine for the majority of the year.
