Construction underway on new Clarion 100% affordable housing development on Station Road, Merton
Clarion Housing Group celebrated construction being underway at the new affordable housing project at 42 Station Road in Colliers Wood, Merton, which will be entirely for social rent.
The new development will bring 98 high-quality, energy-efficient homes to the heart of Merton, aimed at enhancing local family life with sustainable living options.
To mark the significant progress made, Brian Ham, Project Director at Clarion Housing Group was joined by Councillor Andrew Judge, Cabinet Member for Housing and Sustainable Development at Merton Council, Colliers Wood ward Councillor Caroline Cooper-Marbiah, Simon Trice, Managing Director, Hill Group and members of the Clarion and Hill Group project teams on a visit to the site, demonstrating the strong partnership with local government for this transformative project.
The new 10 and 13-storey buildings, which are being delivered in partnership with The Hill Group, an award-winning housebuilder, is located near the scenic River Wandle and Morden Hall Park, and designed to cater to the housing needs of Merton residents. Featuring a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, each home will offer private balconies, modern fitted kitchens with energy-efficient appliances, and comprehensive amenities to support a high standard of living.
In addition to residential spaces, the development which is expected to complete by 2026 will feature a landscaped courtyard, riverside park, play areas, and commercial spaces, fostering a healthy community atmosphere.
