We are pleased to announce the official launch of the Bancroft Digital Hub in Tamworth. The resident led committee at the Bancroft community centre were awarded a digital communities grant last year. The grant was used to purchase new equipment, a paid digital skills tutor and the training up of several local digital champions. The Bancroft centre, which now includes a ‘tea & tech’ cyber café and a computer suite, is a digital hub that serves the local community. Residents can sign up for digital skills training or just swing by for some informal support with using the internet.
Volunteers, along with Clarion staff, launched the digital hub last week. We hope that the centre will prove to be a valuable resource for the community going forwards. Digital Inclusion Officer, Dale Every said “this is an excellent project which provides a range of IT and digital skills support for local residents. We’ve tried to create a schedule of activities that are accessible for all ages and abilities when it comes to maximising the benefits
of the internet”. For more information please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
